Profile

A freelance illustrator and designer since 1998, Jamie Stroud is mostly known for his children’s and editorial work, but has extensive experience in publishing as well. Jamie’s primary choice of medium is brush and ink with digital color, and is also comfortable with pencil and oils. He is a long standing member of the Society of Illustrators and the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles.

Growing up in New York, Jamie graduated from School of Visual Art in New York City with a BFA degree studying under Will Eisner and Harvey Kurtsman. At FIT, also in NYC, he earned his MA in Illustration benefiting from such great illustrators as Murray Tinkelman, Vincent DiFate, William Low and many others. Pop culture, comics, literature and fine art are all infused in his work.

An adjunct professor since 2000, Jamie has taught classes in drawing, illustration, design, anatomy, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator at universities and community colleges in both New York and Colorado.

A father of three, Jamie and his family moved to Boulder, Colorado in 2010 for a cleaner quieter lifestyle. When not working he enjoys travel, golf and tennis. His Irish terrier Larry, however, keeps it from getting too quiet.
